Georgia Tech Walk-On Star Who Led Special Teams with 13 Tackles in 2017
Zach Matthews, a gritty defensive back from Lambert High, walked on at Georgia Tech, earned a scholarship, and led the Yellow Jackets with 13 special-teams tackles in the 2017 season while maintaining a stellar 3.82 GPA in mechanical engineering—graduating in 2019. His differentiator? Relentless hustle, academic excellence, and blue-collar intensity that screams 'team-first warrior.' No injury red flags; pure underdog inspiration. Ideal fit for programs valuing special teams aces and culture-builders over raw recruits—why care? He embodies the heart that wins championships.
