Gritty Louisiana CB with Ball Skills but Targeting Red Flags
Jayrin Wilson, a 5-10 redshirt junior cornerback for the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns, flashed starter potential in the 2019 season with 11 tackles, 3 pass breakups, and 1 interception across 14 games, showcasing quick feet and ball-hawking instincts ideal for slot coverage. However, his 2021 New Orleans Bowl ejection for a brutal helmet-to-helmet hit on a fair catch—widely called a 'cheap shot' by Marshall players and analysts—raises concerns about discipline and fit for teams prioritizing clean, high-character defenders. A local Lafayette product with high-motor intensity, he's a developmental gem if he refines his tackling angle.
