Dawson Hoffman brings depth and back-end toughness to South Carolina’s secondary
Hoffman is a compact, physical defensive back at 5-11 and 200 pounds who adds depth to South Carolina’s safety room and has already appeared in game action for the Gamecocks. His high-school resume shows a disruptive, instinctive defender — 70 tackles, 7 tackles for loss, 9 pass breakups and 4 interceptions in his senior season at Dorman — which points to a player who can diagnose quickly and finish plays. He looks like a useful fit for a team that values toughness, special-teams utility, and steady developmental upside.
