David Simmons brings veteran linebacker grit to Texas State
David Simmons is a former Texas State linebacker whose profile is built on toughness, leadership, and production rather than flash; in the 2005 season, he posted 70 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, 3 sacks, and an interception while earning first-team All-Southland Conference honors. He stood out as a walk-on who beat the odds with work ethic and a relentless, undersized-but-unbothered style that teammates and coaches clearly trusted. If your team values instincts, motor, and blue-collar reliability, he’s the kind of linebacker who fits.
