ECU’s gritty, team-first linebacker depth piece
Rowe Mellott’s calling card is reliability: East Carolina has described him as a consummate team-first contributor with strong work ethic, assignment-sound play, and the versatility to help at outside linebacker and on special teams. In the 2019 season, ECU listed him at 6-foot, 215 pounds after he had added more than 30 pounds in the program’s strength-and-conditioning system, which hints at real development and buy-in. He’s not a stat-sheet headline hunter, but he profiles as a smart, physical, dependable fit for a staff that values toughness, depth, and attention to detail.
