Valparaiso’s high-motor linebacker and academic standout
In the 2023 season, Evan Annis was one of Valparaiso’s most complete defenders, finishing with 79 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, three pass breakups, and four quarterback pressures while earning PFL Scholar-Athlete of the Year and All-PFL recognition. The film-and-profile takeaway is a linebacker who plays with discipline, production, and versatility—useful against both the run and pass, and clearly trusted in key situations. He also brings a strong off-field reputation, with Valpo highlighting his biomedical background and leadership profile, which suggests a smart, steady fit for a program valuing reliability and football IQ.
