Blake Fields brings freshman polish and plate discipline to Houston
In the 2026 season, Houston freshman INF Blake Fields has been an everyday spark, hitting .261 with 48 hits, 3 home runs, 26 RBIs, and a team-leading 34 walks while making 53 starts in 55 games. He stood out early with multi-hit, multi-RBI games and even a clutch bases-loaded walk, showing advanced strike-zone control and a calm, competitive feel for the moment. At 6-foot-0, 200 pounds, he looks like a reliable, versatile bat with defensive utility — the kind of steady, high-floor player who fits well if you want toughness, discipline, and lineup balance.
