Lane Tobin is The Citadel’s steady infield bat with sneaky pop
In the 2025 season, Lane Tobin appeared in 44 games, made 43 starts, hit .259, and tied for the team lead with three home runs; in 2026, he was still producing at a .265 clip with a .769 OPS and popped for a two-homer, four-RBI game against Presbyterian. He also earned 2025 All-Southern Conference Defensive honors at shortstop, which tells you the glove is a real part of the package. The fit is simple: dependable, versatile, and competitive, with enough bat-to-ball and occasional power to help a lineup without needing the spotlight.
