Phil Long brings veteran size and academic consistency to Monmouth’s defensive front
Phil Long has been a steady Monmouth defensive line presence since 2021, listed at 6-foot-2 and 270 pounds in the 2023 roster, with a background that includes all-county honors in high school and a sports medicine major that hints at his disciplined, team-first profile[1][3]. His value is less about flashy stat lines and more about reliable interior toughness, positional flexibility, and staying power in the program, which is exactly the kind of no-drama trench piece coaches love to keep around[1][10].
