Big-frame Mercer QB with arm talent and winner’s edge
Shoch entered Mercer as a 6-foot-3, 215-pound quarterback with a reputation for a strong arm, competitiveness, and winning pedigree; Mercer’s 2022 signing notes called him a “big, strong young man with an outstanding arm” who “possesses all the intangibles.” His profile suggests a pro-style passer built more on structure, poise, and physical tools than flash, which can fit a team looking for a sturdy QB room piece with upside. Public stat pages show limited recent production, so the real appeal is developmental: size, arm strength, and a coachable, high-intangibles profile.
