a sturdy, high-IQ Michigan State forward with board work and grit
Victoria Gaines is a 6-3 redshirt senior forward for Michigan State whose value has long come from versatility, rebounding, shot blocking, and transition play rather than pure scoring flash. She was a highly regarded recruit out of Merrillville, ranked No. 23 nationally by ESPN HoopGurlz and also praised by MSU for being a face-up four who can block shots, rebound, and run the floor. In college, she’s shown the kind of reliable, team-first toughness that coaches love: physical, efficient, and willing to do the dirty work.
