Derrin Boyd brings efficient shot-making and veteran scoring punch to Charleston
Boyd is a proven **high-level guard scorer** who has produced at multiple stops, most recently giving Charleston a reliable perimeter threat and secondary creator; in the 2024-25 season, he averaged 13.9 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.2 assists while hitting 40.7% from the field and 38.5% from three, and he had already shown he can spike big nights with a 22-point outing early for the Cougars.[2][7][15] His differentiators are shot-making touch, free-throw accuracy, and a polished, experienced approach, but teams should also account for an injury-shortened season at Lipscomb before his move to Charleston.[17]
