Nolan Belcher is giving Kent State real thunder behind the plate
In the 2026 season, Kent State catcher Nolan Belcher has flashed impact-bat upside with multiple big games, including a three-hit, four-RBI day against Akron and home runs in wins over Toledo, Ball State, and Baldwin Wallace. The 6-foot-4, 220-pound redshirt freshman from Jonesboro, Arkansas brings a physical right-handed profile, power that plays in clutch spots, and enough versatility that Kent State has also used him at DH. He was ranked the No. 2 high school catcher in Arkansas in 2024, which tracks with the pop and presence that make him an intriguing fit for teams needing a bat-first catcher with upside.
