Bryson Ross is a rangy, high-IQ safety with a nose for the ball
In the 2025 season at Portland State, Bryson Ross flashed as a young safety with 36 tackles, 6 pass breakups, and 1 interception, building on a 2024 season in which he made 19 tackles and 3 pass breakups. Coaches have praised his field awareness, physicality, and football IQ, calling him a tall, versatile defender who can play cornerback or safety and sees the field unusually well. That combination of length, instincts, and aggressive play makes him worth watching if you want a defensive back who can cover space, trigger downhill, and add playmaking upside.
