Double-Digit Scoring Forward Thriving in 2025-26 with Salukis After Texas State Breakout
Davion Sykes, the 6' forward formerly with Texas State Bobcats where he exploded for 11.2 PPG and 6.9 RPG (49.7% FG) across 22 games in 2023-24, now anchors Southern Illinois Salukis in 2025-26 averaging 7.1 PTS, 4.4 REB, and 52.2% FG efficiency—showcasing elite rebounding instincts, defensive tenacity (echoing C-USA All-Defensive lineage), and seamless transition scoring that makes him a gritty, high-motor glue guy. No major injury flags; his relentless intensity and positional versatility scream 'immediate impact starter' for any mid-major or power program eyeing undervalued toughness.
