explosive track-speed RB still looking for his Spartan breakout
Barbarin is a fast, compact Michigan State back with legit home-run speed, and his high-school profile backed that up: ESPN ranked him among California’s top players in the 2023 class and one of the nation’s better running backs. In 2023, he appeared in one game and logged one carry for 1 yard, preserving his redshirt, so the on-field college sample is tiny. What stands out is the upside — burst, quick-twitch acceleration, and multi-sport athleticism — but he’s still more projection than proven producer, making him a fit for a staff willing to develop a slasher with runway.
