Left-handed-looking impact arm with proven high-school résumé and college experience
Ayala is a 5'3" right-handed pitcher whose value comes from experience, competitiveness, and proven high-school production: at East Central HS she was a four-year varsity letterman and earned All-District honors, while Tennessee State listed her as a pitcher after signing her as a two-way threat with a .391 batting average, 1.469 OPS, 25 RBI, and 14 stolen bases in 2021. Her college stat line at Tennessee State included a 3.88 ERA in 2023, and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi lists her as a senior pitcher, though no current Islanders stats were available. She looks like a fit for a team that wants a scrappy, versatile arm with competitive upside rather than pure power stuff.
