Serign Marong brings versatile linebacker depth and disciplined, assignment-sound play to Washington State
Marong’s profile fits a team looking for a **reliable, versatile defensive piece**: he played both defensive end and traditional linebacker, appeared in all 11 games in 1998, and earned coaching recognition for discipline on special teams and defense. His stat line was not flashy—20 tackles, 4 tackles for loss, and 1 sack in 1998—but the value is in his consistency, adaptability, and willingness to do the unglamorous work that keeps a defense organized. The key question for a fit: does your team need a dependable, coachable linebacker with a low-drama, high-discipline game?[1]
