UVA’s bat-first transfer has been a line-drive engine with power
Joe Tiroly has been one of Virginia’s most valuable infield additions in the 2026 season, leading the Cavaliers in hits (76), home runs (16), RBIs (66) and total bases (137) while slashing .319/.408/.576. He was also steady in the clutch, hitting .500 in the ACC Tournament and .429 in the NCAA Tournament, and he started all 60 games. The differentiators: advanced bat-to-ball feel, real over-the-fence pop, and strong plate discipline for a middle infielder. He looks like a plug-and-play run producer who raises a lineup’s floor and ceiling at once.
