Ruben Ibarra brings proven JUCO production and run-stopping physicality to Purdue's linebacker room
Ibarra is a downhill, physical linebacker whose value shows up in tackles for loss, sacks, and disruptive plays rather than flashy coverage stats. In Purdue’s roster notes, he was a junior-college standout at City College of San Francisco, where he earned first-team all-state/community-college honors and posted 68 tackles with 8.0 tackles for loss and 4.0 sacks as a sophomore, then added 35 tackles with 8.0 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks as a freshman; ESPN lists him with 25 solo tackles and 1 sack at Purdue. He looks like a fit for a team that wants toughness, violence at the point of attack, and a player who can win with effort and leverage.[4][3]
