Chaz Wright’s contact bat is still warming up, but his college track record says upside
In the 2026 season, St. John’s INF Chaz Wright has appeared in 10 games and is hitting .071 with 1 hit, 6 walks, and 5 strikeouts, a tiny sample that says more about adjustment than ceiling[3][4]. The draw is his profile: a 6-foot-1, 195-pound sophomore who was a three-year varsity starter, two-year captain, and a two-time All-State performer in high school, plus a Big East All-Academic selection[1]. If a team wants a steady, left-handed bat with pedigree, makeup, and room to grow, Wright is the kind of smart flyer that can pay off[1][4].
