Tackling Machine from UAPB's 2019 Defensive Unit
Rico Merriweather, a 6'2", 188-200 lb defensive back for Arkansas-Pine Bluff Golden Lions, burst onto the scene in the 2019 season with 18 tackles (15 solo) and 1 TFL, peaking at a career-high 8 tackles (6 solo) against Southern—showcasing his relentless intensity and solo-stopping prowess in SWAC play. With verified speed (4.71 40-yard dash) and athleticism (73.59 Nike rating), he's a physical, high-motor DB ideal for teams needing gritty coverage and run support; no recent college stats post-2019 suggest a potential transfer or depth gem worth scouting for FCS elevation.
