Scott Smith III brings dual-threat upside, but Towson still hasn’t had much game tape to prove it
Smith is a 6-foot-4, 210-pound quarterback who showed some dual-threat juice at St. Paul’s, where he earned MIAA All-Conference honors after throwing for 1,703 yards and 18 touchdowns and adding 207 rushing yards and a score in his junior season. At Towson, though, his college sample is tiny: in 2022 he completed 4 of 10 passes for 30 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions and added 34 rushing yards, and Towson listed him as a reserve quarterback in 2024 with no game appearances. He looks like a developmental fit with size, mobility and upside, but not yet a proven ready-made starter.
