veteran UMES guard with a lasting Maryland Eastern Shore connection
Nykesha Thompson is listed as a guard for Maryland Eastern Shore, with public stat profiles confirming her UMES college background and guard role, but no current season box-score production surfaced in the available results. Her biggest differentiator is the kind of steady, experience-driven basketball IQ that programs value in backcourt pieces: a player who understands pace, positioning, and defensive accountability rather than just empty scoring. The broader profile also suggests a deep basketball pedigree tied to UMES, which can matter for fit, leadership, and culture.
