veteran UTRGV guard with gritty two-way flashes and postseason poise
Angela Villarreal’s profile is built on toughness and experience: in the 2016-17 season at UTRGV, she averaged 6.6 points and 2.2 rebounds while shooting .333 from the field, and she flashed her best in the postseason with 9 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 steals against Rice. That mix of defensive activity, guard versatility, and willingness to impact games without dominating the ball makes her a useful fit for teams valuing energy and disruptive pressure. The caveat: her scoring efficiency was modest, so she reads best as a role player whose edge and intensity can tilt momentum.
