veteran DB with ballhawk instincts and a long résumé
Zerius Lockhart has been a trusted defensive-back presence for North Carolina A&T, earning preseason first-team MEAC recognition in 2017 and entering that season as a multi-year starter at cornerback after starring at free safety. In the 2017 season, he had already logged 168 career tackles, 5 interceptions, and 15 pass breakups in 36 games, which shows a DB who tackles, diagnoses quickly, and makes quarterbacks pay for mistakes. His differentiator is experience: he’s been praised as a player who doesn’t allow much behind him in coverage and pairs solid range with physicality.
