Gavin Ekizian brings power stuff, but 2026 was cut short by injury
In the 2026 season, Fresno State freshman RHP Gavin Ekizian made his college debut, striking out four batters in 3.0 innings before a season-ending injury halted his year. The 6-foot-2, 205-pound Kingsburg native gives the Bulldogs a right-handed arm with real strikeout upside and two-way athleticism from a multi-position high school background, where he also hit .337 and posted a 1.31 ERA. The big question is health: if he bounces back cleanly, he looks like a high-upside local arm with room to grow.
