Jacob Batts brings veteran depth and special-teams grit to UAB’s linebacker room
Batts is a seasoned, 6'0", 220-pound senior linebacker for UAB who has been around the program long enough to know the drill and do the dirty work. His profile suggests a rotational defender/special-teams piece more than a headline stat-stuffer: in the 2021 season, he appeared in two games and recorded one tackle, which points to limited box-score production but reliable roster value. The fit question is simple—if you want experience, toughness, and a low-drama, team-first presence in the room, he’s the kind of guy coaches usually love.
