UNCW’s 6-foot-5 righty Ty Lawson brings pro-size power and local pedigree
Ty Lawson, a 6'5", 210-pound RHP from Whiteville, N.C., gives UNC Wilmington a big-frame arm with local-draftable buzz and the kind of mound presence coaches love. He arrived after being honored as a state pitcher of the year in high school, and his profile has stayed consistent: starter-sized body, right-handed power, and enough velocity to draw pro attention. He’s the sort of pitcher who can fit a staff needing innings, projection, and upside—especially if your team values strong local feel with a ceiling that still looks pretty juicy.
