Jacob Bower is Nebraska’s relentless, walk-on-to-scholarship linebacker climbing the depth chart
Bower has become a compelling Iowa? No—Nebraska defender to watch: after redshirting in 2023 and appearing in 6 games in 2024, he played in all 13 games in 2025 and posted 8 tackles, including stops in Big Ten play. [3] His biggest differentiator is the backstory and motor: he earned a scholarship after a strong spring, and coverage describes him as a former walk-on whose relentless drive helped him carve out a role on special teams and in the linebacker rotation. [6][12] He looks like a fit for teams valuing toughness, development, and effort.
