Freshman Griz linebacker with local roots and a developmental upside
Brian Maus is a freshman linebacker for Montana from Missoula, which gives him a hometown-grit angle that Griz fans usually love[1]. His current profile is more about projection than proven production, so the big question for 2026 is how quickly he can translate physical tools, toughness, and football IQ into meaningful snaps in a deep Montana defense[1]. If your team wants an instinctive, local, high-upside LB who could grow into a tone-setter, he’s worth monitoring; if you need instant stat-sheet fireworks, he’s not that guy yet[1].
