Veteran Wake Forest reliever who brings strike-throwing steadiness
Luke Schmolke has emerged as a trusted bullpen arm for Wake Forest, posting a 4.15 ERA with 48 strikeouts in 43.1 innings across 26 appearances in the 2025 season, then returning in 2026 as a veteran presence after a midseason absence. He stands out for consistency, a low-hit profile, and the ability to handle high-leverage relief work; his 2025 split included a strong early stretch with seven straight scoreless outings. The fit is obvious: if a staff wants a composed right-hander who competes, attacks the zone, and can calm a game down, Schmolke is your guy.
