Georgia State QB Backup Who Sparkled in 2012 Debut
Redshirt freshman Ben McLane burst onto the scene for Georgia State in 2012, stepping off the bench to throw 169 passing yards and 2 TDs in a 44-21 loss to No. 17/14 New Hampshire, showcasing poise under pressure as the Snellville, GA native who won the starting job in spring practice. His clutch relief performance hints at untapped potential and leadership upside, making him a intriguing developmental QB prospect for teams seeking a resilient pocket passer with local ties—no recent data post-2012, but early flashes suggest high football IQ and arm strength worth scouting.
