Nick DiRito is App State’s strikeout-heavy, big-moment righty
In the 2026 season, redshirt junior right-hander Nick DiRito emerged as a reliable workhorse for App State, highlighted by a career-high 8 scoreless innings, 11 strikeouts in a May win, and 85 strikeouts on the year — the fifth-most in a single season in program history. He pairs bat-missing stuff with improving command and a proven ability to settle games down, which makes him a strong fit if you want a starter who can swing a weekend with pure innings-eating competitiveness.
