From Iowa State Guard to SDSU Head Coach with JUCO Championship Pedigree
Bryan Petersen, a former Iowa State Cyclones guard from Clinton, IA, averaged 6.1 PTS, 2.6 REB, and 2.8 AST with 38.9% FG in his college career, but his real shine came as a First Team All-American and Region XI Player of the Year at Kirkwood CC. Now in his first year as South Dakota State Jackrabbits head coach (2025-26: 14-18, 7-9 Summit League), this Iowa native's differentiator is his proven winner's mentality—securing two NJCAA national titles as Kirkwood head coach (2013-19)—bringing intense leadership, recruiting savvy, and program-building intensity. Care because he's elevating SDSU; a perfect fit for teams seeking gritty, championship-minded coaches.
