The 6'8" Power Forward Elevating Northwestern's Interior Defense and Rebounding
Jared Swopshire, a 6'8" (2.05m) power forward for the Northwestern Wildcats, is a high-intensity rebounder and defensive threat who averaged 9.7 points and 6.7 rebounds per game in the 2024-2025 season across 24 games, with a 45.1% field goal rate and 72.7% free throw accuracy. His differentiators include elite box-out discipline, consistent shot-blocking presence, and a relentless intensity that fans say 'helps much more than they realize' [7]. Though his 3-point shooting dipped to 20.8% in limited appearances, his 45.1% inside scoring and 6.7 rebounds per game show he's a perfect fit for teams needing interior strength. With no major injury history and a top-100 national ranking from his IMG Academy days [4][5], Swopshire brings proven pedigree, defensive grit, and a team-first mentality that makes him an ideal addition for any roster seeking a reliable, physical forward.
