Marshall’s Cornelius Jackson brings veteran scoring pedigree and coach’s-eye leadership
Cornelius Jackson is known more for his toughness, scoring background, and leadership than for flashy one-stat dominance: he was a West Virginia high school Player of the Year who averaged 28.0 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 5.5 assists at Oak Hill before becoming Marshall’s head coach in 2024, and he has already earned finalist recognition for the 2025-26 Ben Jobe Award. For a team, that profile suggests a competitive, high-IQ fit who can shape culture, develop guards, and demand accountability—especially valuable if you want a proven winner with deep West Virginia roots.
