Maggie Fontana was Holy Cross’s do-everything engine
A Hall of Fame guard for Holy Cross, Fontana’s differentiator was all-around impact: in the 2001-05 seasons she piled up 1,575 points, 768 rebounds, 420 assists and 251 steals, while leading the Crusaders to three Patriot League regular-season titles and two NCAA trips. Her game fit every box a coach loves—scoring, playmaking, rebounding and defensive disruption—and she consistently showed up in the biggest moments, including tournament MVP honors in 2003. If you want a guard who can carry possession to possession with toughness and production, she’s the blueprint.
