Athletic, multi-year linebacker with SEC-ready tools and special-teams value
Townsend is a veteran Texas linebacker who has appeared in 19 career games, bringing proven depth, athleticism, and a high-motor profile rather than flashy box-score production.[1][3] At 6'1" and 202 pounds, his testing numbers point to real range and burst—especially a 4.63 forty, 4.41 shuttle, and 36.3-inch vertical—while 247Sports grades his best traits as lateral movement, pursuit, and play-in-space ability.[2][5] He looks like a useful fit for teams that value speed, effort, and coverage mobility at linebacker.[1][5]
