Recap
Purdue dominated Akron 49-24 at Ross-Ade Stadium, erupting for 35 second-half points to pull away from the Zips. The Boilermakers got off to a fast start with a Kory Sheets blocked punt return touchdown in the first quarter, and Brandon Kirsch connected with Dustin Keller twice in the fourth quarter to seal the victory. Despite Jason Montgomery's three touchdown receptions for the Zips, Purdue's balanced attack featuring Jerod Void's 46-yard scoring run proved too much for the Mid-American visitors.
