Recap
Texas claimed bragging rights in the Red River Rivalry with a 24-17 victory over Oklahoma at the Cotton Bowl. The Longhorns burst out of the gates with two first-quarter touchdowns—a 24-yard Jerrod Heard-to-Marcus Johnson connection and a 3-yard Tyrone Swoopes rush—to build an early 14-0 cushion. Swoopes later delivered the dagger with a 2-yard touchdown pass to Caleb Bluiett early in the fourth quarter, extending the lead to 24-10. Oklahoma's Samaje Perine answered with a 1-yard scoring plunge, but the Sooners couldn't complete the comeback.
