Recap
TCU opened their season with a 23-17 victory over Minnesota, controlling most of the game behind quarterback Trevone Boykin's dual-threat performance. The Horned Frogs built a 20-3 lead through three quarters on Boykin's 19-yard rushing touchdown and an 11-yard TD pass to Josh Doctson, while kicker Jaden Oberkrom added three field goals including a 53-yarder. The Golden Gophers made it interesting late with K.J. Maye's 22-yard touchdown reception cutting it to 23-17 with 1:32 remaining, but couldn't complete the comeback.
