Recap
Jacksonville State dominated Mississippi Valley State 49-7 at AmFirst Stadium, using a balanced rushing attack to pull away early and never look back. The Gamecocks scored twice in the first quarter and exploded for four touchdowns in the second, including two rushing scores from Eli Jenkins as part of a 21-point frame. Troymaine Pope opened the scoring with a 32-yard rushing touchdown, and the Gamecocks continued to pour it on despite a brief answer from the Delta Devils' Ruban Thurston Jr., who scored on a 29-yard run in the second quarter.
