Hawaii opened its season with a 28-20 home victory over Colorado, riding a dominant performance from quarterback Max Wittek. The Rainbow Warriors jumped out to an early 16-0 lead on Max Wittek's 11-yard touchdown pass to Quinton Pedroza, then extended their advantage to 23-7 on a spectacular 79-yard scoring strike to Marcus Kemp. Despite Michael Adkins II's two rushing touchdowns keeping the Buffaloes in contention, Hawaii maintained control throughout, with Wittek adding a third touchdown pass to Isaiah Bernard in the third quarter to seal the victory.
