Recap

Clemson held off a furious fourth-quarter comeback by Notre Dame to escape with a thrilling 24-22 victory at Death Valley. The Tigers built a commanding 21-3 lead behind Deshaun Watson's two first-quarter touchdown passes and a 21-yard rushing score, but the Fighting Irish stormed back with 19 unanswered points in the final frame. DeShone Kizer led Notre Dame's charge with three fourth-quarter touchdowns, including a 1-yard strike to Torii Hunter Jr. with just seven seconds remaining, but the failed two-point conversion sealed Clemson's narrow escape.
