Virginia outlasted Syracuse 44-38 in an epic seven-overtime thriller at Scott Stadium, the longest game in ACC history. After the Cavaliers forced overtime with Ian Frye's field goal as time expired in regulation, the teams traded touchdowns through five extra periods before Taquan Mizzell's 13-yard scoring run gave Virginia the lead in the sixth overtime. Jordan Ellis sealed the victory with a 3-yard touchdown run in the seventh overtime after the Orange had cut it to 44-38.
