Recap

Ohio State held off Northern Illinois 20-13 in a defensive struggle at Ohio Stadium. The Huskies jumped ahead 7-0 early on Aregeros Turner's 5-yard touchdown run, but the Buckeyes clawed back to tie it 10-10 at halftime on J.T. Barrett's 23-yard touchdown strike to Michael Thomas. Darron Lee's 41-yard pick-six in the third quarter proved to be the difference, giving Ohio State the cushion they needed to secure the victory.
