Houston outlasted LSU 38-35 in a back-and-forth thriller at NRG Stadium, with quarterback Conner Weigman leading the way by throwing four touchdown passes for the Cougars. After LSU's Barion Brown opened the game with a 99-yard kickoff return for a touchdown, the Tigers and Cougars traded blows through four lead changes. Dean Connors' 20-yard touchdown run with 2:23 remaining gave Houston the cushion they needed to hold off a late LSU rally and secure the victory.
