Recap

Western Kentucky pulled away in the fourth quarter to defeat Southern Miss 27-16 at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans. After the Golden Eagles built a 16-13 lead on a Creighton Wilbanks field goal early in the third quarter, the Hilltoppers responded with 14 unanswered points in the final frame, capped by Marvis Parrish's explosive 54-yard touchdown run. George Hart III's go-ahead score with 7:51 remaining proved to be the difference-maker as Western Kentucky's ground game dominated down the stretch.
