Recap

Michigan State dominated in their season opener, building a commanding 21-0 halftime lead over Western Michigan en route to a 23-6 victory at Spartan Stadium. The Spartans' offense showed diverse weapons with Brandon Tullis and Makhi Frazier each scoring rushing touchdowns, while quarterback Aidan Chiles connected with Nick Marsh for a passing score. Western Michigan's only points came late in the fourth quarter on Tate Hallock's 32-yard interception return, as the Broncos struggled against Michigan State's defense that even added a safety in the third quarter.
